Health Agency, No New Report Within The Past 24 Hours, As NCDC Announces 1565 New Confirmed Cases From 25 states Within The Nation
Nigeria has recorded 1565 new Covid-19 cases, a development which has taken the country’s total infection tally to 95,934.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this on its official twitter handle on Thursday.
NCDC said that as of January, 7. 2021, 1565 new confirmed cases with 6 deaths recorded in the country.
The health agency added that no new state has reported a case in the past 24 hours.
According to it, till date, while 95,934 cases have been confirmed, 77,982 cases have been discharged and 1,330 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The health agency said that the 1565 new cases were reported from 25 states thus– Lagos-807, FCT-236, Kaduna-79, Oyo-57, Plateau-47, Rivers-37, Katsina-35, Edo-30, Sokoto-30, Delta-26, Kebbi-23, Ondo-20, Enugu-18, Abia-17, Ogun-17, Benue-16, Bayelsa-15, Bauchi-14, Niger-13, Kano-10.
Others are Borno-6, Imo-5, Ekiti-4, Osun-2, Jigawa-1.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has said that Nigerians stand the risk of increasing the rate of spreading the virus to their parents and the older population in the country if they fail to practice preventive behaviour.
“Do not put their lives in danger. #TakeResponsiblity to protect them – observe physical distancing, wear a face mask, and wash your hands frequently,” it advised.
