Health Agency, No New Report Within The Past 24 Hours, As NCDC Announces 354 New Confirmed Cases From 17 states Within The Nation
Nigeria has recorded 354 new COVID-19 cases, a development which has taken the country’s total infection tally to 45,244.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this on its official twitter handle on Tuesday.
NCDC said that as of August, 6. 2020, 354 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in the country.
The health agency added that no new state has reported a case in the past 24 hours.
According to it, till date, while 45,244 cases have been confirmed, 32,430cases have been discharged and 930 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The health agency said that the 354 new cases were reported from 17 states thus –FCT-78, Lagos-76, Kaduna-23, Ebonyi-19, Oyo-18, Nasarawa-17, Rivers-17, Delta-16, Kwara-15, Akwa Ibom-13, Edo-12.
Others are Ogun-12, Plateau-11, Kano-9, Bauchi-6, Borno-6, Ekiti-6.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has said that Nigerians stand the risk of increasing the rate of spreading the virus to their parents and the older population in the country if they fail to practice preventive behaviour.
“Do not put their lives in danger. #TakeResponsiblity to protect them – observe physical distancing, wear a face mask, and wash your hands frequently,” it advised.
