Covid-19: Nigeria Records 1,398 New Cases Bringing Total Number Of Infections To 103,999

Health Agency, No New Report Within The Past 24 Hours, As NCDC Announces 1,398 New Confirmed Cases From 23 states Within The Nation

Nigeria has recorded 1,398 new Covid-19 cases, a development which has taken the country’s total infection tally to 103,999.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this on its official twitter handle on Wednesday.

NCDC said that as of January, 13. 2021, 1,398 new confirmed cases with 9 deaths recorded in the country.

The health agency added that no new state has reported a case in the past 24 hours.

According to it, till date, while 103,999 cases have been confirmed, 82,555 cases have been discharged and 1,382 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The health agency said that the 1,398 new cases were reported from 23 states thus– Lagos-542, FCT-131, Oyo-120, Rivers-113, Plateau-111, Kaduna-71, Kwara-71, Akwa Ibom-34, Sokoto-31, Benue-28, Ogun-27, Kano-26, Kebbi-17, Osun-12, Nasarawa-11, Delta-10, Gombe-10, Bayelsa-9, Borno-9.

Others are Edo-8, Ekiti-3, Jigawa-2, Katsina-2.

Meanwhile, the NCDC has said that Nigerians stand the risk of increasing the rate of spreading the virus to their parents and the older population in the country if they fail to practice preventive behaviour.

“Do not put their lives in danger. #TakeResponsiblity to protect them – observe physical distancing, wear a face mask, and wash your hands frequently,” it advised.
